Biorithm Wins Top Product Design Award at Victorian Premier's Design Awards
Biorithm Femom, a wearable fetal and maternal monitoring device, has recently been awarded the Best in Category Award for Product Design at the Victorian Premier’s Design Awards 2022. The Victorian Premier’s Design Awards highlight and celebrate local design capability, showcasing outstanding design across eight categories. The award ceremony was held at the National Gallery of Victoria, where Biorithm team expressed their gratitude to the Victorian Government, Creative Victoria, Good Design Australia, and the jury for their support and development of the Victorian design industry.
Femom has the potential to enhance the journey of up to 33 million high risk expecting mothers globally each year through its integrated maternity care solution. The Femom home-monitoring device captures essential maternal-fetal bio-signals remotely and enables clinicians to review it to assess the health of both the mother and the baby. Using electrocardiogram (ECG), Femom is designed as a clinical-grade device, allowing greater access to care and data on the development of the fetus and maternal health. Femom offers Mothers a convenient way to access care, empowering them with a real sense of being the active carer in their pregnancy journey and equips clinicians with the data they need. The high-resolution data can be used to identify risks before they become emergencies, ensuring a safer and smoother maternity journey.
The Victorian Premier’s Design Award initiative celebrates it’s 26th anniversary in 2022, the awards acknowledge the design sector as a significant contributor to the Victorian economy, generating over $6B in annual revenue and employing more than 98,000 people in design-related roles. Biorithm Femom is a perfect example of how design can be used to create functional, safe, and efficient products that solve real-world problems. With its clinical-grade design, Femom is revolutionizing the way maternal-fetal health is monitored, empowering mothers and enhancing maternity care. The Awards provide an opportunity for businesses and the community to better understand the role of design in creating functional, safe, and efficient products, services, and spaces.
