Everdure by Heston Blumenthal is the Best of the Best

The Everdure by Heston Blumenthal HUB charcoal barbeque has been awarded the top prize in the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2017

After assessing thousands of products from all over the world, the HUB barbeque was awarded the Red Dot: Best of the Best — the highest distinction in the Red Dot Award: Product Design. The jury agreed that Everdure by Heston Blumenthal and D+I have created an extraordinary, innovative design and that the HUB barbeque is one of the best products of 2017.

Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of the Red Dot Award, said: “The jury awards the Red Dot: Best of the Best for outstanding design. Only design visionaries can achieve the perfect harmony between the quality of the function, seductiveness, use and responsibility. The award finds groundbreaking designs like these and makes them visible to the whole world.”

The significance of the Red Dot Award: Product Design is well established internationally. It was more than 60 years ago that a jury convened for the first time to assess the best designs of the day. Since then, an expert team has been awarding the seal of quality for good design and innovation to the outstanding designs of the year.

Manufacturers and designers around the globe were invited to enter their products in the 2017 competition. The jury of around 40 independent designers, design professors and specialist journalists tested, discussed and assessed each individual product. The competition received more than 5,500 entries from 54 countries this year.
