Milieu Climate Smart Thermostat: 2022 Good Design Best in Class Award (Consumer Electronics)

The Milieu Climate® smart thermostat gives you the ability to design your environment, reduce your overall energy consumption + save on bills.
Developing a sensory user experience across all touch-points builds a brand: Milieu Climate was conceived from the very beginning as a complete product experience. Every design detail has been purposefully examined + refined, from the smart thermostat device through to instructional/installation manuals, and retail packaging. All visually distinctive, highly desirable, and intuitive. Influenced by the psychological concept of gestalt, Milieu Labs and D+I placed a mindful approach at the centre of the product experience.

Telstra Locator:
D+I worked with Telstra, Australia’s largest telco company, to design and launch the Telstra Locator range, an innovative new ‘IoT finding service’. The Locator range enables consumers to ‘tag’ and ‘track’ the location of the possessions that matter (I.E. Keys, Bags, Bikes, Pets and even business assets like tools or vehicles.) Paired with the Locator smartphone app the Locator range provides a strikingly intuitive tracking system for anything = that works for anyone.
Everdure by Heston Blumenthal - Charcoal Barbeque Range (Shriro):

Redefining the outdoor cooking experience - Shriro partnered with our experts to develop their new range of charcoal barbeques that are strikingly simple to use + perfectly safe to use on balconies, in backyards and on the beach. Working closely with world-renowned chef Heston Blumenthal through immersive research techniques helped us to better understand customer pain points and inspired the innovations required to overcome them. The biggest challenges? Getting the charcoal up to temperature + cleaning after use. The solution? A single push-button electric ignition system + porcelain enamel coatings on the firebox and charcoal tray. The crisp, clean and simple design of the barbeques reflect what the consumer wants – commercial quality equipment that makes cooking delicious food straightforward.
SK-II: R.N.A. Power Magnetic Booster:
A new skincare technology to enhance SK-ll's STEMpower Eye Care portfolio. D+I worked as part of the collaborative team (Inc. OBJ Limited and Procter & Gamble), that developed SK-II’s R.N.A. (Radical New Age) Magnetic Booster. The new Magnetic Booster, boasts a breakthrough Magnetic Micropulse Technology that delivers consistent yet gentle pulsations at 7000 magnetic vibrations per min. Using calibrated magnetic fields, micro-arrays push the active ingredients of the SK-ll R.N.A. (Radical New Age) Cream deeper into the skin; enhancing delivery by 3x traditional finger application. Working within the parameters of a clinical trial, our creative development team translated OBJ's technology in to a stunning consumer product design that delivers superior results + embodies SK-ll's brand values.
Foxtel iQ5 Set Top Box:
iQ5 introduces a whole new way to get connected to the best of TV + On-Demand content from Foxtel. With iQ5 there’s no need for cable installation to get started. Foxtel Customers can now connect using Hybrid (Satellite + IP) or IP-Mode (Plug in the internet or stream via Wi-Fi) — making it easier than ever for more Australians to enjoy the best in entertainment. Foxtel and D+I worked to develop a product design language styled to appeal to a wide national audience and to be representative of a high-value next-generation in-home entertainment system. The Foxtel iQ5 features an elevated and minimalist matte ‘Traffic Black + Cool Gray’ aesthetic, iQ5 blends seamlessly into any interior, be it placed next to the television or in shelf spaces.
