With the help of D+I, Cyclone created an award-winning range of garden pruners for both the professional gardener and the home enthusiast. This innovative range gave Cyclone a unique selling point in the market, with sales revenue in the first 12 months of production projected to exceed $1.2 million.

Aesthetics driven by experience.

The revolutionary new design does away with the visible, rust-prone spring found in conventional pruners. Through our user experience analysis we were able to improve the whole experience of pruning. We found sap flowed around the cutting blades into the pivot and spring mechanisms of conventional pruners, causing the blades to stick — a frustrating experience for the user. Our solution was an innovative centre-less hub to conceal the spring, preventing sap ingress and sticking blades. We designed the handles to be ergonomic and comfortable to hold without pinching fingers.
