Parkinson's KinetiGraph
The Parkinson’s KinetiGraph (PKG) is a wearable medical device ‘disguised’ as a smart watch. The PKG enables continuous tracking of patient movement via a wrist-worn movement recording device. When combined with proprietary algorithms and a data-driven report, this innovative system delivers improved patient care though better, more accurate data.
Innovative wearable.
The watch is typically worn by patients for 6-10 days, with activity data being collected continuously as the patient goes about their daily life at home. In addition to tracking activity, the watch can be programmed to remind the patient, at their prescribed medication times, to record that they’ve taken their Parkinson's medication.
At the end of the recording period the data is uploaded for processing. A report showing the movement of the patient is then generated and emailed to the patient’s clinician.
Patient-first design.
D+I worked with Global Kinetics to develop a new, patient-friendly strap, a more intuitive user interface and a revolutionary charging solution. The result was an innovation in patient care and mobile health technology that has been embraced by both patients and doctors alike.
