Ingenico has held the status of undisputed best-in-class worldwide. Over our 20 year relationship we designed and developed more than 75 products.
During that time, we developed a unique design language for the McDonalds Restaurant Group. The customised EFTPOS payment terminals developed were rolled throughout McDonalds worldwide.
Ingenico™ NPT-2
The terminal was designed by Design + Industry in 2003 for Ingenico HQ in Paris, France. It is part of a range of terminals that are a redesign of the Elite 700 series designed by D+I in 1995. This range of payment terminals (NPT2) have improved features over the earlier models. The NPT2 terminals were designed to give Ingenico a new look product design language to carry across their future range of products.
Ingenico also demanded a reduction in production costs, NPT2 terminals were redesigned to reduce overall cost of manufacture. The development of the NPT2 saw over 600,000 units sold by the end of 2004, less than 18 months after it was launched, the NPT2 quickly became one of the world's leading and most recognised EFTPOS payment terminals.

This featured selection of products represents the many banking terminals and pin pads that have been created by D+I since Ingenico first became a client in 1987. For over 20+ years we continued to collaborate, with D+I in Balmain developing products for mass manufacture and sale by Ingenico to global markets.
The range of products developed during our long-standing relationship with Ingenico still stand to this day superior in look (new product range design language development), design postponement, and manufacturability, and achieved world leading market standards in ergonomics, specific operational functionalities, financial transactions security, and applied technologies for the time.
