2019 Red Dot: Product Design Award for the Everdure By Heston Blumenthal 4K
Following in the footsteps of their HUB, FUSION and FURNACE barbeques (all designed by D+I), Everdure by Heston Blumenthal have been awarded a 2019 Red Dot Award for their new 4K Outdoor Oven. The Everdure by Heston Blumenthal range of charcoal and gas barbeques and outdoor ovens (pictured below) has now received a total of four Red Dot Awards, including the coveted Red Dot: Best of the Best.
The 4K was competing with more than 5,500 products entered by designers and manufacturers from 55 countries in the 2019 competition. The expert committee recognised that the 4K Outdoor Oven was a truly outstanding design, worthy of receiving the coveted Red Dot Award — considered by many to be the world’s most prestigious award for Product Design.
Judged by an international jury of experts.
The international jury comprises experienced experts from a range of disciplines. During an adjudication process that spans several days, the jury try out the products, discuss them and ultimately reach a decision regarding the design quality of the entries. Their assessment focuses on criteria such as the level of innovation, functionality, formal quality, longevity and ergonomics.
Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of the Red Dot Award said: “I would like to congratulate the laureates sincerely on their wonderful success. The fact that their products were able to satisfy the strict criteria of the jury bears testimony to their award-winning design quality. The laureates are thus setting key trends in the design industry and are showing where future directions may lead.”
