Omega Induction Cooktop Range
Omega approached Design + Industry to assist in creating a new and consistent design language unique to the Omega product range. D+I worked with Omega to design a brand new range of ovens, cooktops (gas + induction) and rangehoods. The new range is the result of a multi-year re-branding initiative elevating the range to meet the expectations of modern Australian families seeking value driven, high performance, designer range of modern kitchen appliances. A core requirement of the redesign of Omega appliances was to achieve a consistent look and feel with the same knobs, handles, cast iron trivets and finishes across the range, with an emphasis on streamlined and sophisticated aesthetics. The new electric induction cooktops range taps into a growing trend toward black appliances. The Omega induction Cooktops are available in 4 or 5 cooking zone combinations, a frameless black EuroKera glass finish, resulting in a high quality, durable finish that is easy to clean and highly aesthetically appealing. New user interface options include precision touch controls or right side knob controls, and safety lock (ensuring little hands don’t cause big accidents).
Designer DNA
D+I worked with the Omega product development teams to create a design DNA that encapsulates what makes Omega different. Tapping into the brand heritage, and emerging kitchen interior trends, the new range ushers in a unified and elevated look and feel for the Omega range. Simply superb design with easy-to-understand + superior cooking technology. Whilst working with D+I to design the new range, the opportunity to tie in a new brand direction with the significant investment in product arose. Omega embarked on the journey to completely re-brand - aligning product development + design + offerings, with a new brand image, brand positioning, as well as an enhanced distribution + promotional strategy. The result is a strikingly modern value-driven range of 4 and 5 cooking zone induction cooktops, boasting a unique + consistent design language + striking black glass finishing launching Omega into 2020.
